Jeff's Race at Irwindale Speedway

My brother is a race car driver in his spare time and came in first place last year. I hadn't had a chance to go so the kids and I went to his race the Saturday before Mother's Day with my mom and dad. It was so much fun!! I need to go more often. His new car was getting work done so he had to drive his old car. The transmission was slipping so he didn't get to finish the race. It was so sad! He had a mother's day speech all prepared for when he won so needless to say he was a little dissappointed. But I was so impressed!! I had no idea that my brother had such amazing skills! He had to start in the back of the pack and was in second place by the fourth lap!!

There was a face painting clown there so of course Delaney had to have her face painted. She wanted a butterfly but I talked her into checkered flags on one cheek and my brother's number on the other. She looked sooo cute!! Bryse was totally into the cars...he'd wave at them each time they came around the track. When my brother's car was told to leave the track from the transmission smoking so bad Delaney kept saying, "Uncle Jeffie's car needs a bandaid" and "Poor Uncle Jeffie and his car need a hug and kiss". It was so exciting that we are going again this Saturday! GO UNCLE JEFF!!

Madison's 1st Birthday Party

We went to My Aunt Colleen and Uncle Jamie's to celebrate Madison's 1st birthday party. The kids had a blast in the pool. Delaney is doing so good with her swimming!! Bryse had so much fun running around the shallow end in his floatie. I'm so glad that my kids love the water!

I love the pool!

Bryse's 1st Angel Game

We decided last minute to take the kids to an Angel game on Friday night. The Angels played the Dodgers and won of course!. It was fun for the kids to see the rivalry between the fans of each team. The kids looked so cute in their Angels gear (and Ryan did too!). It was soooooo hot and they were a zillion bugs so we had to move down to the field level. The kids were troopers....we stayed late so they could see the fireworks. We're so lucky that we get to do all of these fun adventures!!

Miniature Golf and Taco Joe's

Ryan was off of work on Thursday so he took me to The Running Center in Redlands to get new running shoes. It was my Mother's Day present. It was perfect timing..now they'll be broken in before I do my 10k run on June 22nd. On our way home we decided to take the kids miniature golfing at Fiesta Village and then to lunch at Taco Joe's. It was HOT!! Bryse wanted to pick up all the balls and put them in the hole (which worked to all of out advantage) and Delaney was over it after the first hole. They had a jumper there right next to the golf course and once she saw the jumper that's all she wanted to do.

Afterwards we had lunch at Taco Joe's...it was delicious!! We tried to get pictures of both kids with the mannequins but Bryse didn't want anything to do with them. Delaney LOVED them! Ryan thinks that one of the mannequins looks like Nick Rimando and I kind of agree!!

Open House at Preschool

Well, it's official. Delaney is growing up way too fast!! We took her to the Open House at her Preschool and she was soooooo excited!! She absolutely loved it! I know we made a great choice by enrolling her there and she'll have friends in her class that she already knows. She got to meet her teachers, do an art project and make a necklace. We were so proud of her we took her out for ice cream afterwards. It was so fun to see how happy she was but still bittersweet. It's going to be harder on me when she starts school than it's going to be for her!!

It was a little cool before the sunset today so we went outside and played for awhile. Delaney kept going up and down the slide and Bryse wanted to swing for a long time until he figured out that he could climb up the slide!!

We went to Logan's birthday party at Jumping Jacks. Delaney was having a great time but the poor girl was a sweaty mess!! She got to see a lot of her friends and got to have some special one on one time with Mommy since Bryse was with my Mom and Dad. Bryse got special time too!! He went with Mema and Papa to Granny's house and then on to see Aunt Carole and Uncle Sonny. They both had a wondeful day! Lucky kids!!

Disneyland

We did a quick trip to Disneyland with Tiffany, Kodi Lynn and Degan (thanks for driving Tiffany). We wanted the girls to see the new Playhouse Disney show in California Adventure. It was soooo cute!! I got some hilarious videos of Delaney dancing. We saw A Bug's Life 3D show and the kids weren't too thrilled about wearing the glasses. We had to do our usual and get the girls faces painted...you guessed it! Tinkerbell again for Delaney. Tiffany took Delaney and Kodi Lynn on the roller coaster in Toon Town (Delaney's favorite) while I stayed with Bryse and Degan. They just relaxed in their strollers the whole time. It was a short day but so worth it with our passes! We are planning on going again next week...we're going later so that we can stay and watch the parade.

I couldn't believe it! My kids fell asleep on the way there!!

Air Show at March Air Reserve Base

The kids and I went to the Air Show at the March Air Reserve Base with Dean, Amy, Alex and Allyson. Danae, Mike, Austin, Tavin, Jerry and Danae's Grandparents Don and Tookie were there too so we had quite the group! What a wonderful show it was!! It was totally last minute that we went and definitely worth it. Delaney was into it at first and then was tired of it being so loud by the end. Bryse had his eyes peeled for the planes. He kept waving to them..it was soo cute!!

Delaney borrowed Austin's binoculors to look at the airplanes

I LOVE the air show mom!!

the girls were over the noise!!

i don't know what kind of plane this is but it's huge!!

Delaney is such a Diva!!

The Air Show was over when Ryan got off of work so we met at Joe's Italian Restaurant for dinner and had some yummy pasta (they were out of pizza- can you believe it?)
